Hello Darlings,

Most Sunday’s you will find me at church, this last Sunday I found myself at a different kind of church. There was still love, faith, service, music and people. So really what’s the difference? That’s the best part. The difference was that numero uno / side note, Sunday was The Lash Bars 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY at our new retail locationπŸ₯‡πŸŽ€πŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸŽ !!!!!! How does this even apply you ask? Settle down everybody I’m getting there! So in celebration of this glorious day, I decided I wanted to do something extra special. Pull out all the stops ya know? So I did. But not just me. Together with CARE-cuts we stood by their mission statement, and after them starting with a couple hundred cuts that weekend, we jumped in Sunday and with our love, lifted and improved to their grand total of 2,000 of homeless men, women, and children’s free hair washes and cuts by the time things closed up around 8pm that night. Successful night? I have never been more humbled or been exploding with love and joy. In answer to my own question. HECK YES IT WAS A SUCCESSFUL NIGHT! The way these girls faces lit up after finally getting their hair washed after who knows how long, and it is something we take for granted on a daily basis. That my dears, is priceless.

Don’t worry, it wasn’t just a free hair treatment to bring a smile to their faces. Their was also face painting 🎨, build a buddy (literally theeee cutest, like basically a bear but we are not in the business of stealing names here) (also who doesn’t want to build their ultimate best friend? I would but I already have one πŸ˜‰), a DJ spinning🎧🎀🎢, even people getting out to danceπŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί, and best of all, a petting zooπŸ¦„.

How absolutely adorbs is this little girl and llama πŸŽ€πŸ’? She may have been shy and nervous during the dryer blow out, but how fabulous is her hair do? Also pretty sure that llama and her were best friends, I was trying real hard not to get jelly. But that’s the point! It wasn’t even about me! It was all about the people. Kids like this one. This beautiful girl, and making her feel beautiful, loved, and cared for, and safe even for the short while she was in that chair.

I know we were laughing and having a blast, but how can you not when you are giving that much of yourself in such a positive environment? It is pretty humbling to think of how these kids grow up, sometimes with nothing more than they can carry, only getting these washes when luck happens their way. But is it luck? Coincidence? Nothing’s coincidence. Everything happens for a reason. I was there that day for a reason and only time will tell for who and why. It was so heartwarming to see how happy they are to get their hair washed. Some of the girls wanted pictures to keep as memories. The best was when I did snow cones 🍧 at the end! Can you think of the last time these amazing people got a great treat? They were so grateful it was almost heartbreaking. I want to open 10 Lash Bars so that I can do that all day. In all honesty, jokes aside, my real passion is doing something for someone that can’t do anything back. It is by far the most rewarding, like my heart just freaking explodes and it is by far my fav πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—. Sometimes it is most difficult to explain the things in life we are most passionate about. Don’t worry though, I’m finding my voice.

Mad props out to CARE-cuts. Please follow them on every platform possible because not only do they deserve it, so do the children who receive their services. A little bit more about them, they are a non profit organization who donates their time to people who really benefit from the service that they give. What’s even better is that they are always looking for volunteers! Sign up today and volunteer at your closest location. Trust me, this is a life changing experience you do not want to miss out on.

Below are links to all of their social network platforms. Please share for the benefit of your local homeless children. Share a link, help a child. It really is that simple.
